Member Update:

Service Arrangements During Industrial Action
Thursday, 10 September 2026

From:
Tom Keogh, Chair, Board of Directors, Tullow Credit Union

Dear Member,

I am writing to provide you with clarification on inaccurate information that is currently circulating as a result of the strike action involving employees of Tullow Credit Union.

The Board’s priority during the period of the proposed strike action is to maintain access to essential services while continuing to ensure that member transactions are processed safely, securely and in accordance with the Credit Union’s normal controls.

There is a need for our members to continue to avail of services when staff are on strike. To meet this need, the Board has put in place contingency measures, in accordance with the Credit Union’s normal controls. We have two people on site, who have the appropriate qualifications and professional backgrounds to fulfil the roles to which they have been assigned.

Details of the arrangements in place to maintain essential services to members during the remaining days of the industrial action are included below.

Opening hours during strike periods
Tullow Credit Union will remain open during the remaining notified strike periods from 9.30am to 1.00pm.

The remaining notified strike periods are:
• Friday, 11 September 2026, from 9.30am to 1.00pm
• Thursday, 17 September 2026, 9.30am to 1.00pm
• Friday, 18 September 2026, from 9.30am to 1.00pm

During these periods, the following essential services will be available from 9.30am to 1.00pm:
• Cash lodgements
• Cash withdrawals
• Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs)
• Transfers between Credit Union accounts
• Balance enquiries
• Statements and receipts

The following services will not be available from 9.30am to 1.00pm, but will be available from 1pm onwards as usual:
• External cheque withdrawals
• Loan drawdowns
• New loan applications or lending discussions
• New account or membership opening
• Account closures
• Other services requiring additional processing or authorisation

Online Banking will remain fully available and is unaffected during the periods of industrial action.

Members who require non-urgent or more complex services are encouraged, where possible, to attend after 1.00pm.

We would also ask members to allow additional time if attending during the morning period, as waiting times may be longer than usual.

Once again, we would like to acknowledge our members’ patience and understanding during this period.

Kind regards,

Thomas Keogh
Chairman
Board of Directors
